Theatre & Dance 2024

Sprinkles

During December 2024, Tic created music for The Other Room Theatre production of ‘Sprinkles’ by Katie Elin-Salt. Directed by Dan Jones and performed by Elin Phillips.

Iphigenia Yn Sblot

Once again collaborating with director Alice Eklund, Tic created the score for Gary Owen’s Welsh language version of ‘Iphigenia yn Sblot’ starring Seren Hamilton during the summer of 2024. The score is directly inspired by the unique sound world of Splott itself, with the music being largely composed using Tic’s detailed field-recordings from the local area.

“The sound too, (ably created by Tic Ashfield) is created from actual recordings of sounds about the area, creating the music and ugly, yet symphonic world that Effie inhabits.” – Get The Chance on Iphigenia yn Sblot

Meta vs Life

Working with Hijinx Theatre once again, Tic created the music and sound design for the hybrid theatrical experience Meta vs Life.

Meta vs Life is a unique experience that can be played online or in-person.

Part immersive performance, part escape room, part murder mystery in which you, the audience, play as ghost hunters (in-person), or the recently deceased (online). In Meta vs Life, only by finding ways to work together will you solve the mystery of how the dead met their grizzly end.

The living start their ghost tour at a secret location in Cardiff City Centre, before exploring hidden corners of the city. The ‘dead’ join us from their homes or work stations, in a 90s inspired game console afterlife, forever stuck in a pixilated 2D limbo…

Did you ever want to make contact with the dead? Or did you ever wonder what the afterlife would be like? Well now is your chance!
