Film & TV 2024 – 2025

Persuasion

First broadcast in December 2025, Tic composed the music for The Read’s ‘Persuasion’, produced by Rural Studios.

From Rural Studios: Bafta and Olivier Award-winning actor Monica Dolan gives a captivating performance reading of Jane Austen’s much loved and last completed novel, Persuasion.

First published on 20 December 1817, Persuasion explores the themes of love, regret and second chances through its heroine Anne Elliot, the quiet yet perceptive daughter of a vain baronet. Overshadowed by her more socially ambitious sisters, Anne is neglected by her father, Sir Walter Elliot, who is preoccupied by his own status while neglecting the weighty financial problems threatening his estate, Kellynch Hall.

Before the story begins, the 19-year-old Anne is persuaded to break off her engagement to the man she loves, Captain Frederick Wentworth, a man without fortune or title of whom her family disapproves. Anne’s sense of duty and her longing for a life that acknowledges her true nature is expressed in the turmoil she experiences when, at 27, she reconnects with Wentworth, now a successful naval captain, and the stage is set for a journey of self-discovery amid the entanglements of family, friendship, and social standings.
